@jeremiah.foster I am running Plymouth version 0.9.5-2pureos1. This is on a Librem 13 v3 running Byzantium.

Although I agree that people at Purism shouldn't instruct how to install proprietary software, It would be difficult to forbid instructions or discussions about installing or upgrading Coreboot, which still contains blobs.

OK @jonas.smedegaard ! I'll copy-paste-crop my comment on the proper issue when it's ready! ;)
Regarding the first issue, although I agree that people at Purism shouldn't instruct how to install proprietary software (especially this kind of critical drivers!), It would be difficult to forbid instructions or discussions about installing or upgrading Coreboot, which still contains blobs.

It worked for me! Thank you @jeremiah.foster !
Jun 24 2020
The issue is resolved on my side too. The version of libhandy is now correct.

I just found out that the python3-apt package in Byzantium is not up to date and is at version 1.8.4, which is the same version as Debian stable, which is not compatible with python 3.8 : https://packages.debian.org/buster/python3-apt
@jeremiah.foster I get the same output from the same command.
Jun 17 2020
@jeremiah.foster I am still getting the same error after updating and upgrading.
Jun 16 2020
After trying to install gnome-software again, I now get the following error :
Jun 4 2020
Thank you @mak ! I will retry in a few days then. Do you know how many days?

Dec 2 2019
Actually, I managed to upgrade the OS by upgrading the packages one by one. None of them triggered that error.
Oct 21 2019
Sorry for my confusion @guido .
Thanks for your input @jeremiah.foster.

If this feature is really important for the PureOS team, then we should keep it.
Aug 14 2019
@omar.aboulhosn , we decided to work upstream with GNOME and so we don't want to promote PureOS by trying to re-invent the wheel with the hope that PureOS will be installed on a few more Thinkpads.
Aug 13 2019
GNOME itself is not over-branded anyway so that is perfect for us.
@adrien.plazas , these were old proposals from James but we decided not to go this way and keep the branding at its minimum, so we will keep the application menu and background unbranded.
Aug 12 2019
@adrien.plazas , sorry for the late answer, we are finalizing the first version of the branding guidelines.
Feb 28 2019
I set the keyboard layout to "English (US, alt. intl.)" in the GNOME "Region & Language" settings panel but it didn't help
Feb 26 2019
After upgrading my system with apt on the command line, I had this warning (don't know if it is related) :
Aug 27 2018
Thank you @mak I have added the slideshow to my to-do list and will discuss about it with Tobias. See you on the other issue!
Aug 21 2018
@mak sorry, you may have told me about making graphics for the installer but I lost track of that.
Aug 13 2018
@mak Only via the live installer.
Thanks for the clear explanation @mak . I understand perfectly.
Aug 11 2018
Just checking if there has been any progress on this issue? It is blocking non technical users pretty much here in France. Especially the lack of internationalization and spell checking in LibreOffice.
Aug 7 2018
Maybe the "language packs" could exist in the repository even before the installer is fixed so that non English speaking people would have a way to add their language graphically through the Software app?
Jul 22 2018
The thing is that we plan to make PureOS target the average user so most of the time there will be no system administrator but only people who don't know what a terminal or a command line is. We cannot exclude this type of people who are the ones that currently have no access to software freedom by not being technical enough.
Jul 19 2018
OK sorry for the misunderstanding.
Thank you @jonas.smedegaard !
Users that are not part of the kvm group get an error message when starting Boxes that asks them to manually add themselves to the group.
Yes, you can close the issue.
Jul 18 2018
The problem has now been fixed on my side with the new version of qemu (now on green). I can run a virtual machine without any problem.
Updated!
Jun 1 2018
I confirm I haven't been able to reproduce the bug after weeks of usage.
May 29 2018
I have added my user to the kvm group but when restarting libvirtd, I got the following error :
Apr 23 2018
@jonas.smedegaard the Librem 15 v3 has a TN screen (instead of ISP) so it is not really good for graphics and I do my work on the Librem 13 instead.
Apr 11 2018
I can confirm that it is not an issue anymore on my side.
Apr 6 2018
Mar 23 2018
An extra thing that we can do is to make sure that new PureOS users are part of the kvm group?
Mar 21 2018
Thank you @mak !
Mar 17 2018
Adding my user to the kvm group worked (after reboot)
@chris.lamb I can reproduce this bug on both my Librem 13 and 15 both running PureOS pointing to green with the latest updates.
Mar 15 2018
Thank you very much @mak !
Mar 12 2018
I have fixed the link.
Mar 5 2018
Thank you! Changing back to "Area" worked
Feb 27 2018
@jwolf You second line should say :
Feb 14 2018
OK, it may be from an older install or something has gone wrong on my side for some reason...
Yes because it is supposed to be automatically updated.
For some reason, on my PureOS install, /etc/resolv.conf was not a symbolic link to /etc/resolvconf/run/resolv.conf and was never updated.
Feb 12 2018
You may ignore this bug as it seemed to be related to a network issue on my side (maybe my provider). It is now working.
Feb 2 2018
@chris.lamb no, I cannot confirm that it has ever been working. I have never seen it work.
@chris.lamb The latest one where I could reproduce the bug with was the one from 2018-01-20
Feb 1 2018
Jan 16 2018
@chris.lamb I have just tested Thunderbird 52.5.2 from Debian Sid and it fixes the AppArmor issue indeed.
So I guess that it is just a question of days before the fix gets to PureOS?
Jan 12 2018
@chris.lamb the version I have is 52.4.0 and it seems to be the latest on PureOS (green). Unfortunately, the problem is still there for me too.
Dec 22 2017
What about this one as the "about" one?
Dec 21 2017
I have updated the file (same URL).
Yes @jonas.smedegaard I have an SVG version of the icon. You can get it here : https://pureos.net/downloads/icons/purebrowser-icon.svg
Dec 20 2017
Well, I am not sure to understand correctly. Do you need the SVG image of the icon with some kind of tag within the file as the license?
Branding with different logo sizes has been done previously. At that time Hema made me replace all the logo files from Firefox so I guess that the licensing was the same as in Firefox?
Dec 10 2017
I have the exact same issues. I am not able to run Puremail and I have problems with PGP key import and links with Thunderbird.

I think that the password is "live".
Aug 20 2017
Wonderful!
It works for me on both Debian and PureOS now! Thank you @mak !
Aug 19 2017
Thanks you @mak ! :)
Aug 18 2017
Beautiful! Well done @mak ! :)
Aug 12 2017
Please, remove any wallpaper with a rectangle so we avoid any feedback from the FSF. The Purism rectangle is the logo they don't want to see in the OS. I plan to do a proper logo for PureOS and have a few wallpapers based on this logo for future builds.
When running the live usb key, the directories are not present neither. It is maybe related?
I think that they should be present in order to show the user who is testing the OS before installing that those essential directories exist in the distro.
Aug 9 2017
@mak , the Purism branded wallpapers are still present in the 08/03 ISO and they should be removed.
After trying on a new install on a Librem 13 v2, the dirs are not present even after a system upgrade.
Jul 25 2017
Are you sure the branding will be an issue? Afterall, the Plymouth bootsplash is branded as well.
Jul 24 2017
Thanks Chris! It fixes the issue for me.
@mak, sorry for the late answer, I was away on holiday.
