Those fields are just inherited from the upstream because we bring in the package as a binary.

The only thing I can say at the moment that we will have this done for the next release of PureOS. I know this is kind of vague, but at the moment I can't make a more definitive statement about it, sorry.
Most likely this feature will come with a complete overhaul of the process we use to build images for PureOS.

I also experience the issue described by @soapergem. The boot process sometimes hangs when running the start job for the encrypted swap partition.

I've been using an opensnitch deb in regular, daily usage for a while now. It is functional, not so buggy in terms of interface and functionality. It does leak memory and can take up a significant chunk of my 16 available gigs of RAM, more than 80%, which slows my machine down to a crawl. That said, we might be able to work with the developer. Having this in PureOS is a powerful security story.

on https://repo.pureos.net/pureos-debug/dists/ there's dbgsym packages for amber, amber-phone-staging and amber-proposed-upates so if the versions in amber-phone / amber-updates are the same we can work around things by using these.

before one thinks about repurposing intel ME, maybe try to repurpose its (near) equivalent on AMD first. A Czech guy gave a talk on this, he found a way into it.

Actually, I managed to upgrade the OS by upgrading the packages one by one. None of them triggered that error.

I do not have a solution to installing libmutter, but I was able to upgrade everything else after removing mutter as a package.

Thank you for the explanation. Anyways, I recognize again I confused the default behavior of suggested packages with recommended packages.

There are many, many, MANY ways you can break your system, by changing how its configuration to behave differently from what it did when initially installed.

It started of whatever I thought it was an issue and finished as a question or request about the possibility to let people choose if "install recommends" should be enabled or disabled by default.
