PureOS Hardware requirements

PureOS 9.0 is based on Debian Buster so all hardware requirements that apply to Debian are in an extent the same for PureOS. Recommended hardware requirements for running PureOS default installation as a desktop workstation with optimum performance are in the below table:

CPUAMD x86-64 (K8) or better
Intel 64 – Core or better
RAM4 GB
Storage15 GB for system
GraphicsIntel based
Wifi cardsAtheros chipset

Devices that require proprietary/non-free drivers or firmware MAY NOT function properly or at all. PureOS is fully free operating system, it does not come with any non-free software. If you intend to buy new hardware specifically to run free software operating systems such as PureOS, avoid proprietary or closed hardware.

Add recommended hardware for mobile devices: CPU, graphics and WiFi card for Librem 5 decreasing minimum RAM to 3 GB.
