Setup and run Tilix terminal emulator


A terminal emulator (or simply terminal) is an application that allows you to run some commands and do execute some tasks quicker than with the GUI app. By default, PureOS comes with Tilix terminal application, explained below.

NOTE: Throughout this wiki any terminal command is prepended with the " " icon.

Open settings:

and there you can set the various aspects of the app. For example, set to open new terminal instance as new sessions (tabs):
