How to record your screen in PureOS

GNOME, the Desktop environment of PureOS has an embedded screen recording tool.

NOTE: Videos are recorded in .webm format, and saved to the Videos folder, and this application at this moment does not support audio

To record your desktop simply press the buttons Alt+Ctrl+Shift+r at the same time and the recording will start.

You will see the Red icon on in the upper right corner of the screen.

To stop a recording, just press Alt+Ctrl+Shift+r again, and the red icon will disappear.

And magic:

NOTE: By default videos made with GNOME screen recorder have a maximum duration of 30 seconds, but this can be changed

To increase the maximum duration of the videos:

Open the terminal application Tilix and type the command:
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.media-keys max-screencast-length 60

This will increase the maximum duration to 60 seconds. If you want to increase to more just change the number (seconds) at the end of the previous command and run the command again.

For example 1800 (seconds) corresponds to 30 minutes.
