GPT UEFI boot support
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

PureOS live ISO only supports MBR partition table and not GPT. Some EFI support motherboards do not detect MBR as boot partitions. Unable to force Rufus to use GPT for the live iso. Most Debian/arch/Ubuntu distributions I have on my GPT partitioned Ventoy multiboot USB work just fine except for PureOS which is a shame as a few of the people I have shared videos with would like to perhaps boot it up on their MacBook Pros but are unable to.

Please include the EFI directory and grub menu for a GPT UEFI install on the iso. Thanks

Keep fighting the good fight

There are parts of the EFI stack that are proprietary, this is why we do not include them in our installer. Other projects may include them in their "non-free" repos but because we're a FSF compliant Free Software distro we don't include non-free repositories. We continue to investigate if there is a way to support GPT.
