Event Timeline
p7zip does not suggest a non-free package, only a non-existent one.
Neither do long description encourage use of non-free software, it only mentions the (arguably bogus) fact that RAR archives are supported only by use of (some mysterious non-existing) non-free thing.
@mak Please drop our fork of p7zip and let in the Debian package which complies fine with GNU FSDG.
When addressed, this issue should be flaged as "invalid" (not "resolved").
WARNING: p7zip: Target version '16.02+dfsg-6pureos1' is newer/equal than source version '16.02+dfsg-6'
This needs a manual upload as described in https://tracker.pureos.net/T99#10198 to reset our package to what Debian ships.
as previously noted, this is a non-issue: no non-free package is suggested because the suggested package is not registered in apt so it is neither free nor non-free, it is instead nonexistent.
