Default desktop environment in PureOS is GNOME, which by default runs atop of {icon hand-o-right color=lightbluetext}[[https://wayland.freedesktop.org|Wayland display server]. In case you need to run apps that aren't ported to work on Wayland yet, you can start GNOME session on Xserver, just click the gear icon on your login screen and select !!GNOME on Xorg!!:
