@mladen.pejakovic apt show mc doesn't agree with that. Does the app itself suggest that during usage?

It says this:

/usr/lib/mc/extfs.d/urar: 1: /usr/lib/mc/extfs.d/urar: rar: not found

Parabola patches it, Trisquel does not.

how, when, where - I installed it and run it and nothing popped on me.

You need to click on a rar archive. But linguistically speaking, it doesn't »suggest« to install rar, it simply states that rar is not found.

closing, it is all free, we can't stop people of downloading rar archives and trying mc commander on it.
