Installation process: guidelines for a two-disk system
Open, WishlistPublic

Description

I am installing PureOS on my Librem 15v3 with two SSDs (Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250GB and Samsung SSD 960 EVO 500GB). Is there any documentation that recommends how I should set up a two-disk system, for example:

  • which disk should be my installation target?
  • how should each disk be partitioned?
  • how do I ensure both disks are encrypted? (see https://tracker.pureos.net/T404 for a failure to do so)
  • recommendation for or against using one disk as a /home partition (I'm aware this and other configurations are a matter of preference, I'm looking more for advice saying "this configuration is recommended/has been tested", "this configuration should be avoided for [technical reason]")

I am in the same boat. My Lib15v4 Secure Boot. I thought came out of the box preconfigured with dual drives that I spec'd when I placed my order. I would like to make sure that both drives are properly encrypted.
