Firmware vendor and version can be accessed in userspace via /sys/class/dmi/id/bios_vendor and /sys/class/dmi/id/bios_version. However, it would be very convenient if regular users would find this information on the "About" panel in "GNOME Settings".

Regarding convergence, this would be useful on all Librem devices running PureOS (incl. the Librem 5).

A new helper function in libgtop might be reasonable, which is already used for getting memory and processor information.
