can you check more about this source - there are quite a bit of apple README and code files there, maybe we can remove them all?

I guess what Parabola and Trisquel consider an issue is this comment:

By extracting a driver from an Apple CD, you become liable to obey
Apple Computer, Inc. Software License Agreements.

The code is Free, and does not encourage you to use this particular feature to arguably link with non-free code.
