Patch redshift to support wayland
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

redshift is currently not working with wayland. There are at least two implementations that work in wayland, I have tested this one here: https://github.com/prahal/redshift/tree/add-gnomerr-method

AUthor of the patch explained it here: https://github.com/jonls/redshift/issues/55#issuecomment-292003514

Should we decide to implement this, we would need to raise the priority of gnomerr backend over default randr to spare users of configuring the backend manually in a text file.

And unless this is upstreamed we will not do it, as we are low on manpower for having too much deltas. Also, AFAIK there is Wayland/GNOME solution being prepared for this kind of thing, so that is most probably what we will end up with.

zlatan.todoric claimed this task.

Now with GNOME Night Mode, I think we can close this bug.
