After I updated PureOS, the Software Center suddenly started showing me packages from flatpak.org. There is proprietary software able to be installed with the click of a button. Examples include: Sublime Text Sublime Merge GitKraken It used to be that you had to explicitly enable flatpak repositories. Why has this default changed and I wasn't there any transparent communication about it. AFAIK this goes against the FSF endorsement.
