Black screen and high CPU activity after login to PureOS live in VirtualBox

Description

I am running VirtualBox on Ubuntu 18.04. After starting up the PureOS image (https://downloads.puri.sm/live/gnome/2018-07-06/pureos-8.0-gnome-live_20180706-amd64.hybrid.iso) and plugging in "pureos" as username I get massive CPU activity and a black VBox screen that won't resolve.

Turned out not to be a problem with PureOS. After I played a bit with VBox settings the issue was resolved. I activated 3D acceleration, increased video memory to 128MB, upped usable RAM to 3GB and gave permission to use 2 CPU cores.
